EVERY-CHILD-A-READER PROGRAM (ECARP)
Teacher are asked to attend seminar on ECARP for them to effectively implement the program. It is implemented in all elementary schools in the city.
PRORAM OF EXCELLENCE IN MATHEMATICS
To attain excellence in Mathematics, pupils are encouraged to attend Saturday classes. Through this, understanding of mathematical concepts are strengthened and speed in problem solving is developed.
QUARTERLY AND DIVISION ACHIEVEMENT TESTS
To measure the outcomes of teaching, quarterly and achievement tests are given, These are followed by remediation program to the items found to be difficult in the test and proper measures are provided to develop the skills on the least mastered lessons.
TELL ME MORE
Continuous trainings on the use of software are given to the teachers to enable them to use the tools effectively. Teachers and students learn the correct pronunciation of English words and teachers with regional defects are corrected. Comprehension skills of the students are also developed.
This is done in all schools to give more time to the slow learners particularly in English , Filipino, and Math.
DIVISION LEARNING ACTION CELL IN ENGLISH
This is a short term intervention program of DepEd-Marikina which aims to strengthen the teachers’ competency in teaching reading to beginners, specifically grade one pupils.
Accreditation Program for Public Elementary School (APPES)
To upgrade the school, and to measure the Effectiveness of the public elementary schools, two schools namely Parang Elementary School and Barangka Elementary School are now Level 1 accredited schools.
Reading Recovery Program
This was administered to the slow readers to help them recover what they failed to learn in reading.
